Hurricane Haiyan Yolanda Strongest Super Typhoon in Recorded History 235 mph Gusts






Philippines official death toll reaches 942, may exceed 10,000 in coming days. Some fear the death toll in Toclaban City alone may reach 10,000.

Sustained winds were 195 mph, gusting to 235 mph.

Storm surges reached heights of 17 feet. Wave heights reached 15 feet. Some reports claim storm surges of 20 feet and waves 45 feet high. This is the planet's fiercest storm in recorded history.
